Using Natural Nest beekeeping practices as a foundation, we have owned and operated a family-scale commercial beekeeping operation for 20 years. We produce a diverse line of value added products including candles, mono-floral honeys, medicines, woodenware, and beverages. We use in-hive reared queens to maintain an inbred-line of honeybees using isolated mating yards. Minimal mite mitigation combined with differential reproductive selection based on vigor allows natural stabilization of mite resistance traits in the population over time while maintaining a maximum of diversity within the operation.
